Aim
Since transgenesis and gene targeting have become basic approaches for a wide area of research, this course will mainly deal with basic principles of how transgenic and knock-out (KO) mice are made, and the possible combination of these techniques with different in vivo imaging approaches. Stem cells, their in vitro and in vivo manipulation, and their applications in basic
and translational research will represent the second main theme of the course.
