Project design and bioinformatics of microarray data in clinical research

Aim

This course will focus on data mining from a biomedical point of view. Biological function will be prioritized when selecting genes using Affymetrix algorithms. The students will get the opportunity to perform data mining in one of our clinical projects. This will generate a platform for on-going discussions concerning optimal design of microarray experiments in clinical research and will also illustrate common pitfalls. This course will contain both lectures and practical bioinformatic work.
