Aim
The course pays attention to the following topics: general manual skills and techniques relevant to the isolation of (potentially) pathogenic micro-organisms; extinction rate of bacteria outside a culture; disinfection and sterilisation; escape by contamination and aerosols; checking for cleanliness; working in a safety cabinet; applying for a permit for genetic modification. Some theoretical background will be provided as well as a summary of Dutch legislation on genetic modification.
