Aim
Within healthcare, care providers and consumers are increasingly being confronted with the results of epidemiological research. But optimal health care does not consist of blindly applying advanced technological knowledge. Research into the effectiveness of diagnostic tests, therapies or care facilities is essential for making a rational choice. The need for such research is growing in the Netherlands, both within the medical and paramedical sector as well as in dental and mental healthcare. The programme is focused on research methods that form the core of both general and clinical epidemiology.
